Training a new puppy has been interesting, the bells have made it fun. Our older dog barks when she wants to go outside and we wanted to stop the barking of 2 dogs. Now, with the bells the new puppy is teaching the "old dog new tricks"!

Our adopted Tibetan Terrier 1&1/2 years old loves these bells. Although housebroken she quickly within a couple of hours took to ringing bells when she wants to go outside. When she would dance about (her way of saying out) we just went and rang the bells and said "do you want to go out" By the third time she rang the bells which we heard from another room..Love this product. Would recommend to anyone with pets young or old.

Potty training was taking forever! A friend told me about using bells-- I was very skeptical but pleasantly amazed of how easy it was to use!! My children got into it and now it is rare to have an indoor accident. Our dog rings the bell--if you are not there in her time period, she swipes the bells harder as though she is saying "Hello--outside please!!"

Our dog caught on very fast and all members were on the same page during the training. It is funny now to see everyones head pop up when the bell rings and go to let the dog out before she has an accident. She thinks that we are trained--not her!

I was really skeptical but ordered anyway. After 4-5 tries using command suggested on directions, our 4 month old French Bulldog started going to door and ringing the bells! I still was skeptical and thought she was playing with them. Nope. If I ignored it she would then go over to pad and pee! Since she is a puppy I have to be prepared for much bell ringing!

Hung this from the main door to the backyard and said the suggested "ring the bells" every time we took our puppy outside. Within 3 days he was ringing the bells on his own and hasn't had an accident in the house yet. Wish I had purchased it before the puppy came home, so we could have had it ready for him from day one.

Poochie Bells a success
By Kel from Pleasanton, CA on 12/10/2009
Pros :
Fun, Good Value, Versatile
Best Uses :
All Dogs
Describe Yourself :
Long-time Pet Owner
Bottom Line :
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased the bells because my children would ignore the dogs when they sat by the door wanting out to go the bathroom. It took the dogs less than a week to learn that when they ring the bell they get let out. Now when I leave my kids in charge our dogs don't have accidents next to the door.

So it trained both my children and the dogs. My children are 9 and 11 years old and two of the dogs are 1 and the third is 12.

I have two puppies - so trying to train them both at the same time hasn't been easy, but the bells sure help! We are ajust getting started, but I think they are going to catch on!

Works great for my Basenji-barkless dog

Best Uses :
Younger Pets

It's great for my Basenji since he doesn't bark. The only downside is sometimes he just thinks it's fun to get me to the door and then he decides he doesn't want to go out.
