Choosing the right leash for your dog generally depends on the size of your dog and your personal preference, but we offer the following additional considerations.

Width: Larger dogs require wider leashes. If you are buying your leash for a puppy, you may want to start with a narrow leash and buy a larger one when your dog is full grown.

Length: Choose the leash length that gives you the most control. The leash should be long enough to give your dog some slack, but not so long that getting tangled up is a constant issue.
