Puppies Behind Bars is a not for profit organization that trains prison inmates to raise service dogs. One program within the Puppies Behind Bars organization is called DogTags. Under the DogTags Program inmates train puppies to become service dogs for soldiers returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. During their training:

• The puppies live in prison with their incarcerated trainers.
• As the puppies mature into well-loved, well-behaved dogs, their raisers learn what it means to contribute to society, rather than take from it.

Our dog chews on it rather than our shoes. Great toy

Since getting the chewy shoes I have been able to give my puppy an alternative to chewing all my shoes. It works great!

My tuff chewing six month old newf pup loves this toy! She can't break it,she can drag it and also fetch it so she can play alone as well as with others. I have already given it as a gift to two friends.

Both bulldog puppies like the cord better than the "shoe." They have chewed, tugged, and buried their shoes in their beds. We have enjoyed watching them unknot the cord and fight for ownership. It is a safe toy for teething puppies.

I loved this toy because of whom it help, our US Soldiers fighting for our country. And how it helps the Puppies behind bars training for the injured Soldiers.
I wish the toy had been thicker on the sole.

My two dogs fight over the shoe. The cord has been chewed off.

This is a great toy for dogs. Mine loves to play tug of war with it!

I bought the toy for the cause but my golden doesn't seem interested in it at all. I would still recommend.

These were gifts and I hear all my grandpuppies love them

The only suggestion I can make is to have it in a range of sizes. The dog I bought the Dogtags Chew toy for is a lg toy poodle. The nice thing about it is that he loves the piece of rope it hangs on and the fact that he can chew on the toy itself. I like the toy and so does Gabe.
