Our German Shepherd Dog is 9 yrs old and feeling some arthritis in her hips. She has trouble getting into even my little SUV. We have a cross-country trip coming up, during which she will have to get in and out many times. This item is perfect. It's light weight and easy to put up and take down, and it works! My husband may get one to help him when putting his kayaks on top of the car!

A great product. This step is also helpful to prevent joint injury to younger dogs who may be prone to jumping out of the vehicle and causing injury. I realize it is not intended to be left on the receiver for extended times, but I prefer it would be drilled to accept a receiver pin to make it more secure for larger dogs. Warranty not withstanding I drilled mine to accept the pin.

This item does not bolt into the hitch so it can not fall out or be stollen.

Excellent idea, but for the materials used very expensive. Does not take up much cargo space. Convenent and fast application.
