You must have a current health certificate (issued 7-10 days before you travel) showing that all inoculations are up to date and indicating that your dog is healthy for travel. Your dog should remain in the carrier from the time you enter the departure terminal to the time you leave the destination terminal. Never leave your dog unattended in a zipped up bag. To minimize the possibility of airsickness, do not feed your dog within 6 hours of departure and withhold water within two hours of flight time.

3. When traveling by car, place the carrier in the center of the back seat and pass the safety belt through the carrier’s shoulder straps.

I take my dog everywhere I go. She LOVES this carrier. It is her home away form home. When away form home she likes to be in it for travel, sleep, or for some quiet / hangout time; always entering/exiting through the top. I have used this in the car and on most major airlines with out any problems.

The two pockets easily hold what she needs without crowding her space. It easily fits under the seat of most major airlines and secures with a seatbelt in the car. With the strap on the side, the carrier safely secures to my luggage making getting through baggage and navigating an airport a snap.

Though it is not the most stylish of bags it is easy to clean (the pad can go in the wash, and the inside wipes out with a damp cloth) and holds up exceptionally well to the abuse of travel. I first purchased this in the summer of 2003 and it still looks like new five years and countless trips later.

This is the best carrier I have ever used and I highly recommend it.

I have a Maltese and recently took him to Florida from Massachusetts. Not only did he LOVE the sherpa to travel but it became is home away from home. He retreated to it whenever he wanted downtime. Now that we are home, when I pull it out he RUNS to get inside because he knows it means he gets to go with us.

I have to travel a lot for work and this carrier provides my mini yorkie plenty of room and comfort to travel with me on the plane. She can still see me through the sides, which makes her more comfortable at my feet.

These bags rock. I've tried a lot of different pet carriers, but Sherpa bags are my favorite. These bags are sturdy--they can withstand heavy use without looking worn or falling apart. They are also so attractive that sometimes, I use them as regular luggage when I'm not taking my dogs with me! People in the airports bend down and stare through the mesh screens at my folded clothes and toiletries and ask, "What kind of dog do you have in there?" At home, Jack and Sally like to go in and out and sometimes snooze inside their carriers. We all love our Sherpa bags!
