Front Row Dog Car Seat

Front Row Seat

The Front Row Seat is designed for pets up to 7 pounds (small) or up to 12 lbs (large SUV).  Both are designed to let small pets ride up front, in comfort with their masters, while being protected against sudden breaking.  Console seats are secured to the vehicle’s console while the pet is attached with a safety strap from the seat to the pet’s harness.

Both seats have four straps: The safety strap, two containment straps and one front strap. The front strap goes under the lid of the console preventing the seat from tilting to the rear. The safety strap (which is centered and threaded into the rear of the console and is the connection point for the containment straps underneath) attaches the dog to the seat. The containment straps are the straps that anchor the seat to the car.

INSTALLATION:

Open the containment straps and remove them from the safety strap loops.  Thread it between the upper seat cushion and lower seat cushion on both the driver and passenger seats adjacent to the console. There should be a metal support that the containment strap can go around and then be re-connected making a circle. Another, perhaps better option for the containment strap could be the seat post on the floor of the vehicle again reconnecting to form a circle.  Once in position you may chose to leave it there permanently.

Place the seat on the console with the safety strap to the back end and the front strap facing forward.  Lift the console lid and wrap the single front strap under the lid and tighten. When the console snaps shut this strap simply prevents the console from tilting and is not intended as security in braking or accidents.

Next, open the containment straps previously installed and reattach them to the safety strap loops on the underside of the seat. Adjust the straps to tighten the seat to the console.

Once the seat is in place, the clasp on the safety strap is attached to your pet by his HARNESS. DO NOT ATTACH TO A COLLAR.

Tighten the safety strap to keep your pet in the seat until they realize its comfort.

To remove the seat, simply open the buckle on the containment strap and remove the seat. Close the buckles and leave the containment straps in place for use later.

I was really disappointed when we got this car seat. It's a great idea, has beautiful fabric and I believe it's a good quality item, it's just way too small for a 12 pound dog. My little Cockapoo only weighs 9 pounds, and there is no way she could comfortably lay down in this. She even looked cramped sitting. No wiggle or stretch out room. The size looks good for a Yorkie or doggie about that size.

I have been through 2 other car seats (not cheap ones either) before this one. Gus (my 7 y/o Maltese) has rejected every other car seat with preference to sitting in my lap until now. I like him in my lap on short easy trips but when I go to visit family 400 miles away it can be difficult for me and Gus. He of course is agitated when I am and this is where the seat is great. He goes right in and can see out or just lay down. There are only two drawbacks in my opinion. 1.Attaching it with no instructions 2.I wish it had a small dip in the front so he could rest his head facing traffic. But otherwise a perfect 10 in my book.

My dog rides several times every day and loves the seat! He curls up and feels snug as a bug or sits up tall and can see out the windows! Its great and he is a tiny little guy who only weighs 2 1/2 pounds and had to be held until he got his new car seat! I love it too!

This works great for my Chihuahua since his favorite place to ride was in my lap, or on the console. Now I feel better knowing he is safer, more comfortable, securely fastened in, and can see great from his new spot!

We love to travel with our little lady and she loves to sit up front with us! This product not only enables our small dog to travel comfortably and in style, she is SAFE!! This product is VERY easy to use and when not in use fits very easily behind the passenger seat. THANK YOU!!

Love everything about this console seat. Would like it better if install directions showed examples for set-up. (I'm visual)

My 13 lb maltees and I travel all over the country. I use to use lots of pillows in the passenger seat for him but he always wanted to sit in my lap. Now with this seat..he has his own place and knows where to go, likes the view, can still rest his head on me, and takes a nap with ease...It straps to the console and seats and stays there 24/7. I can still lift the top of the console if I want..couldn't be without it now. His seat is never in the way when people want to ride with us.
