everything advertise from set up (less than 5 minutes) to disconnect (1 second) is true. I started training my mid-size dog (50 pounds) and she took to it immediately. The second time I asked if she wanted to go for a bike ride, she got very excited and seems to enjoy it. a good product.

I use this with my Greyhound and my Greyhound mix (one at a time). Am able to give them a good workout/run in 1/3 the time. They learned quickly how to run with it (and only one "squirrel event").

Cons :
Can Detach
Best Uses :

Having this and using the attachment for small dogs has made bike riding soooo much easier. It did come unhooked once. I had not made sure the fitting was securely attached.

Good, but take it easy for the love!
By BlackDogsRule from Great Lakes on 07/02/2009
Pros :
Fun, Good Value
Best Uses :
Larger Pets, Younger Pets
Describe Yourself :
Long-time Pet Owner

This was a great investment for us, and has made all the difference for our lab/shepherd. It is a lot of fun for both of us. It is very important to be very sensitive to your dog when using this, though. Build up slowly, watch him closely, and alternate faster and slower speeds. Also, I do my best to choose routes where I can ride right on the edge of where the sidewalk meets the grass so he can run in the grass. The concrete and asphalt are really rough on their paws and joints. We go for our jogs early a.m. and again later, when it is cool enough. This is probably intuitive to most dog owners, but I've seen people running their dog so hard on these (on concrete) and the dog looks exhausted, doing his best to keep up. A moderate pace for us on the bike can be vigourous for the dog.
All that being said...nothing like the satisfied smile on my dog after a good jog with the WalkyDog.

That's Good Stuff
Healthy, happy dogs
By B. Anna the dog lover from Walnut Creek, CA on 06/06/2009
Pros :
Fun, Good Value, Tough, Versatile
Best Uses :
Exercise, Larger Pets
Describe Yourself :
Long-time Pet Owner

Our dogs love their exercise and this device sure fits the bill. I have tried many other designs out there, that had more drawbacks than it was worth. This however, is well made, easy to use, and simple throughout. It is versatile, if you prefer a low center of gravity you can get the low rider attachment which is also ideal for small breeds and for more control in regards to handling your bike if riding with a larger breed. This is a no brainer for the novice dog, our Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy took to it very well, but it helps to have a seasoned dog like our Austrailian Shepherd to show the young one the ropes. I encourage pet owners to have their dogs wear running boots to protect their pads from extreme wear, protection from debris, poisonous insects and hot paths (You should never take your pet out on hot days; touch the ground with your palm, if it's too hot for you, then it's too hot for your pal. Also avoid letting your pet run in tall grasses, you don't know what could be lurking under there). Be prepared for long rides, take along a dog bicycle trailer, bowl and water. Some parks have fountains every where, check in advance, you might only need the bowl. Lastly, please consider using a harness instead of having your pet running by their collars, their chest is not nearly as delicate as their throats. Most importantly, ride well and have a blast.
