Perfect. It doesn't get any better
Puppy took to it right away and loves it
By hosehead from Baltimore, MD on 06/28/2011

My Aussie Shepherd puppy would be back and forth from the bedroom into the bathroom he gets so hot at night. The first night we put this down for him he slept on it all night. He doesn't sleep in his doggie bed even on the cooler nights he loves this pad so much.

That's Good Stuff
Pretty good bed

Pros :
Comfortable For Pet, Easy To Clean, Soft
Cons :
Difficult to Store
Best Uses :

This bed is actually sturdier than I had expected it to be. I was sure my dog would rip or tear it right away, but so far so good. Although, he hasn't been left unattended with it! :)
He took to it pretty quickly, however won't stay on it very long. I am not sure if it is the feel of the plastic... I wish it was colder, but it is better than nothing for sure. The large one is rather heavy when filled so may prove difficult for some to move around. It needs to be stored laying flat so that may be an issue for some. It is not supposed to be in direct sunlight, which can be tough if you have it outside all day when you are not there as the sun moves. Overall, I am glad I bought it, however, Diesel still prefers his own lawnchair!

That's Good Stuff
cooler bed is loved, but ...
By jebe from Ventura, CA on 10/16/2010
Pros :
Comfortable For Pet, Easy To Clean
Cons :
Difficult to Store, Seams split, Wears Quickly
Best Uses :
Large Pets
Describe Yourself :
Long-time Pet Owner

I have an older dog who was unhappy on any dog bed because she is arthritic and had trouble walking onto or getting up from most dog beds. I got her the Canine Cooler bed and it was instant love and support. She doesn't want to be anywhere else than that bed, and when we pick it up for cleaning, she is unhappy until it is back down, ready for her. Unfortunately, I have only had it a year and the seam split and water poured out on my floors. It was expensive to only last one year. I am going to try duct tape, but pretty sure I will have to fork out some additional funds for a new bed.

Cons :
Difficult to Store
Best Uses :

I bought this for our 9-year old American Eskimo Dog. She loves it; however, moisture forms under the mattress even though there is no tear. So we have to clean and dry under it often; otherwise a colony of fungus forms.

Got this for my daughter's dog. She said he liked the bed because it was cool for him until 2 a.m. in the morning when he took a bite out of it. This bed torn easily so we are not replacing it. The dog is 11 months and weighs 70 lbs. I guess he'll be sleeping on the carpet from now on.

That's Good Stuff
Keeps a husky cool.
By Susie Malusie from Tulsa, OK. on 06/24/2008
Pros :
Easy To Clean, Long Lasting, Soft
Cons :
Heavy
Best Uses :
Indoors, Large Pets, Pets with lots of fur
Describe Yourself :
Long-time Pet Owner

Our Siberian Husky really enjoys her cool bed. We have several now. We started out with one and once we saw that she liked it, we added more to different rooms of the house. They look a little utilitarian and they are heavy, but it does a great job of keeping her cool in hot, humid Oklahoma summers; so we couldn't ask for anything more. We have them on wood floors, tile and concrete. They work great on all and we have never had a leak.

That's Good Stuff
dog magnet
By Newf lover from Glens Falls, NY on 06/09/2008
Pros :
Easy To Clean, Soft
Best Uses :
Indoors, Large Pets
Describe Yourself :

We have a Newfoundland. Heat is a big issue for him. We filled the bed the day the temperature hit 85. It is three days later and he is basically parked on it. While it is kind of heavy, it doesn't need to be constantly refilled. I placed it on a hardwood floor and have not had any problems with leaking. My son said that it must have a dog magnet in it. If your dog suffers in the heat, this is a great product.

Not Good
Great idea, but dog won't use it
By Laurie from Phoenix, AZ on 05/29/2008
Pros :
Easy To Clean
Cons :
Attracts Dirt/Hair, Color too bright, Concerned about water lea, Difficult to Store, Dog won't lie on it, Off gasses rubber smell, Thin
Describe Yourself :
Long-time Pet Owner

The basic idea of keeping the dog cooler is great. However, using water makes it a concern to use on wood floors. Also, the bright blue vinyl material is not only hard to fit into one's home decor, but it also puts off an odor. Last, I can't get my dog to lie down on it even once!

Average, Ordinary
A bit of a letdown
By Natalie from Michigan on 05/22/2008
Pros :
Easy To Clean
Cons :
Difficult to Store
Best Uses :
Indoors, Large Pets, Small Pets
Describe Yourself :
Long-time Pet Owner

When placed on a hard floor it does stay quite cool. It's very comfortable, but my dog will only lay on it occasionally. Also, once you fill it with water it gets a bit heavy.
