Dog Nutrition: Feeding Puppies
Puppyhood is a time when a dog’s physical foundations are built for life – the formation and growth of the skeleton, teeth, internal organs, immune system and the brain, along with cognitive and nerve function all happen in a relatively short time. Nutritional mistakes made now may not always be fully reversible later on.
Storing Puppy Leftovers Properly
It’s often said that dogs will eat anything—after all, they’re not cats!—but that’s not always the case. Sometimes, puppies develop a silver palate early on and turn their noses up at certain foods they find less than palatable.
Filtered Water is Good for Dogs, Too
Health-conscious people take care to filter their tap water, especially when filling a child’s sippy cup, yet it doesn’t always occur to them to do the same for their dogs. Perhaps the single most important thing you can share with your best friend – and the simplest to prepare! – is clean, fresh water, filtered to remove unwanted chemicals and sediments. (If you haven’t got a filter or you’re on the road, use bottled spring water.)
