The Canaan Dog
Deep in the Israeli desert, wild dogs have survived for thousands of years, living on little more than their wits and hearty constitutions. Feral and a little shy, these dogs make the desert their home every today...but some of them have also settled comfortably into human homes, both in Israel and in the United States. We call them Canaan dogs, and no other breed has risen from feral roots to domesticity in such a short time. Still a little wild in looks and behavior but full of intelligence and devotion, the Canaan Dog makes a truly unique family companion.
