It’s often been said that two halves of a couple come to resemble each other over time, and canine-human pairs are no exception. "People are naturally drawn to others who reflect their inner personality and exterior aura, whether the ‘other’ walks on two legs or four," notes Sarah Hodgson, author of nine best-selling books, including Dog Perfect. "So whether you look like your dogs or you just act like them, spiritually people and their dogs are often one and the same."
Physically, of course, some people and dogs look more alike than others – and that extraordinary likeness is what this photography series celebrates. But beyond the physical resemblance is the indescribable bond that proves love really isn’t just about looks.
"When two beings connect emotionally, it is natural for them to begin to mirror each other’s facial expressions," says Dr. Laurie Nadel, author of Sixth Sense: Unlocking Your Ultimate Mind Power (ASJA Press). "Mirroring is a spontaneous, unconscious way of expressing agreement and rapport. Over time, their silent dialogue can become apparent to others as the two seem to resemble each other."
