Up CountryTwenty years ago, I found myself bored with the dull and uninteresting collars available for my beloved dog.  Like most dog lovers, my pooch has a personality and I couldn't see why he couldn't have a dog collar to match his colorful personality.  I started Up Country in 1984 but I could never have foreseen what would happen in the world of pet fashion since then.  Pets had simple nylon or leather collars that sported little or no decoration.  Dull colors, boring materials, something had to give. 

When I designed the first 6 Up Country collars, people thought I was crazy. No one could buy them; they were too expensive; too fancy for dogs who roll in the mud.  Well, welcome to 2009 when dogs need to be dressed in the latest seasonal wear from head to toe!  Here at Up Country, we look at fashion and color trends to inspire our beautiful collars.

What has not changed in 25 years is the unwavering attention to quality that has become the defining hallmark of our company.  We still make our collars, and most of our other products, in our Rhode Island factory.  They are hand sewn, pressed and finished with care.  We hand pack and check every order that goes out our doors.  And unlike some things that change, our satisfaction guarantee never will.  We stand behind our products and we have thousands of happy customers who stand by us.  Thanks to all of you and here's to the next 25 years!
