Sporty toys for sporty dogs

What's your game? Mine is tennis - and look out if it isn't Nelly's, too. She's trained me (by barking wildly, the dog's favorite gambit) to pick up a toy from the basket outside the door and launch it off the deck into the back 40 so she can go speeding off like a white streak. This makes her happier than just about anything in the world. Plus it stops the barking.

Now I've loaded the basket with these Orbee-Tuff "tennis" balls. They're way better than real tennis balls: They come in the same cute can of three, but they are super-tough, bounce beautifully, and can be used with a Driver so they'll fly out past the barn and the dog will get a fantastic run while you just stand on the porch. Clever, eh? Plus, there's no "ewww" moment when you reach for a once-fuzzy ball now slippery with dog-drool slime, because these are completely washable.

If your sport is football, then you need the Orbee-Tuff version of a pigskin. So put the chips away, get up off the couch - both you and the dog - and go outside to play. I have yet to meet the dog that could destroy one of these. So you can throw it, and your dog retrieve it, all day. (What? You haven't trained Rover to let go of the precious ball? Check out FetchDog's new guide to teaching your dog how to play fetch, get your dog some nice treats and you'll be playing in no time.

Your throwing arm gets a workout; your pooch gets to run; and his breath smells like mint when he comes back, thanks to the scent impregnated in these fabulous fetch toys. In these games, everyone's a winner.
