Ramping Up

Every Friday, I take Cassidy, our 13-year-old Golden Retriever mix, to work with me.  And every Friday, we have the same morning ritual: go outside, do business, come inside, leash up, go to car.  Lately, however, we've added another step to our routine - one that makes me a little sad.

These days, I need to pick Cassidy up and place her in the back of our wagon.  It's no fun for either of us, because she squirms and I end up with fur all over my work clothes. Which means it's time to shop for a ramp.  Fortunately, there are many options to choose from  - all of which are perfect for Cassidy and me.

Because space is always an issue in our house (and my car), I'm especially intrigued by the Roll Up Dog Ramp.  As its name suggests, it serves as a handy way for your dog to get in and out of your car- plus, it rolls up into a pack the size of a small sleeping bag.  The Telescoping Dog Ramp is another attractive option, with a textured surface for traction and the capacity to hold up to 400 pounds of dog - hey, we could take all of Cassidy's friends for a ride.  It can extend up to 72 inches, but stows away to a compact size.

Though we don't have a minivan, the Minivan Half Dog Ramp and Sure Paw Mini Dog Ramp both allow dogs access to the side door - and, in my case, the hatchback - in style.  These smaller ramps are designed for cars that sit lower to the ground than SUVs and pickup trucks do.

Speaking of pickups, that's what my husband drives, and that's where the Easy Auto Step Car Ramp and the Pickup Truck Extension come in handy.  These form a set of stairs off the tailgate (or back of your SUV), making it easier on your dog's joints when she gets in and out of the back of the truck.

And after 13 years of loyalty, the least we can do for Cassidy is make things easier for her.  She's made life so much easier - and more fun- for us.  It's time to repay the favor to our sweet old girl and her aching joints.

Telescoping Dog Ramp

Your dog now has a friend in high places. This ramp is simply indispensable for helping dogs of all ages and sizes gain easy access to SUVs, pickup trucks, grooming tables, beds or couches. Helps save wear and tear on your dog's joints and muscles, too. The telescoping design is the secret to making this ramp easy to use - just slide it out to use and slide it in to stow. Includes a convenient carry handle and safety release latch.

Bring your world back into your dog's reach. One step at a time.
