Holiday Cheer - Throughout the Year

Santa has come and gone. Somehow, on Christmas Eve, the cookies and carrots disappeared before jolly old Saint Nick and the reindeer arrived, and your dogs went to bed with guilty looks on their faces. But that didn't stop you from spoiling them rotten.

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. But let's not forget that our best friends give us the gift of love every day. Or, at the very least, a wet snout on the knee and a gentle nudge toward the food bowl at dinnertime. Why, then, do we only feel the urge to splurge during the holidays?

In addition to the biggies - Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Festivus - it seems there is a holiday for pretty much every group of loved ones possible: grandparents, mom, dad, secretaries, presidents, Winnie the Pooh, African-American coaches (could I make this stuff up? No), and of course, Valentines. But no canines.

Why do we need a holiday to celebrate? Can't we just say, "Happy Tuesday" with a BFF Keychain Dog Charm? Doesn't your pampered pooch need a cozy new dog bed just because? And why wait till you head over the river and through the woods to buy a Dog Car Seat Cover or a safe and comfy Dog Car Seat?

Sure, the urge to break out reindeer antlers and a jingle-bell collar only comes but once a year. But wholesome dog treats only aren't just for stockings. New dog collars are a welcome gift no matter what time of year. Should we wait until Earth Day to buy eco-friendly dog supplies?

This year, let's resolve to let the holiday cheer last throughout the year. Because every dog needs its day.
