Gate Expectations

At my office, every Friday is "Take Your Dog to Work Day."  Well, for me, anyway.

My Belgian Malinois, Stella, is a little too busy for the office- she'd try to herd everyone in sight - so she stays home with her dad.  But my Golden Retriever mix, Cassidy, was definitely cut out for the 9-to-5 scene.

For the most part.

My colleagues love her.  But sometimes (OK, all the time), she can be a bit of a scavenger.  Cassidy roams from office to office, snouting around under people's desks in search of crumbs or dropped food.  She tried to get my boss to give her an apple one morning, and when that didn't work, she sat, drooling, as another co-worker tried to eat a muffin.  The final straw came one recent afternoon, when a few of us found Cassidy in the kitchen, head in the trashcan, drinking the remnants of someone's melted milkshake.

Clearly, it was time to turn my office into a gated community.

Fortunately, Fetchdog had plenty of gate options to choose from.  Would she prefer the Freestanding Dog Gate?  That way, I could gate off my door while still allowing her to lounge in the hallway, which my puppy loves to do.  What about the portable Canine Corral Pet Pen, a mesh contraption that can fold up like a crate or stay straight to be used as a gate?  Very cool.  The hardwood-finish Push-Button Pet Gate is an attractive option, as is the Kensington Freestanding All-Wood Pet Gate, which comes in a variety of finishes.  If, someday, I move into a spacious corner office, I might consider the Convertible Pet Yard.

That way, Cassidy would almost feel free- and I'd be free of worrying about milkshak
