Last night, the Manhattan nightclub Touch was the venue for a swank launch party to celebrate National Geographic Channel's newest - and possibly boldest- reality series, "Rescue Ink Unleashed," which premieres tomorrow night.

The festivities included a world premiere screening of the show, which gets up-close-and-personal with group of tattooed, motorbike-riding, in-your-face guys who are serious softies.  Despite their tough-looking appearance, the tender-hearted members of Rescue Ink have zero tolerance for animal cruelty, and are dedicated to rescuing helpless dogs (and cats and other species) in need:  Their mission: "To Save New York's helpless, abandoned and abused animals."

These are equal-opportunity dog lovers, with a soft spot for a little, fluffy Shih Tzu as well as a big, muscular pit bull.

The Los Angeles Times has called Rescue Ink "the most unique animal rescue group that conceivably exists."  The group authored a new book, in stores now, titled "Rescue Ink: How Ten Guys Saved Countless Dogs and Cats, Twelve Horses, Five Pigs, One Duck, and a Few Turtles."
