At yesterday's Lewyt Humane Awards Luncheon at the posh Garden City Hotel, North Shore Animal League America presented The New York Post with its Media Award of Distinction.

Accepting the award on behalf of the Post were Kieran Crowley, who covers Long Island for the paper, and FetchDog's own Julia Szabo, who pens the paper's enormously popular "Pets" column every Sunday.

Also on hand at the luncheon was Beth Ostrosky, the fiancee of Sirius Radio star Howard Stern, who announced her plan to raise money and awareness for North Shore Animal League's adoptable pets by running in the 2008 New York City Marathon, and Dr. Debbye Turner, an experienced marathoner who offered Ostrosky long-distance-running advice.

To see video footage of Ostrosky preparing for her virgin marathon run - which will take place in November, one month after her impending nuptials - go here.
