Tomorrow at 11 a.m. at City Center, Dorothy and Toto, a.k.a. superstar recording artist Ashanti and a sweet Cairn Terrier named Nigel, co-stars of the new revival of "The Wiz" will make a special appearance on behalf of homeless dogs.

The dynamic duo is hosting "There's No Place Like Home," a special dog adoption day to benefit the Humane Society of New York. Against the backdrop of - what else? - the Yellow Brick Road, Ashanti will pose for photographs, while Nigel will be on hand to sign "pawtographs."

"There's No Place Like Home" is, of course, the famous line in the 1974 rock and soul musical based on the beloved L. Frank Baum story, adapted for the screen in 1939, about a young girl named Dorothy Gayle and her adventures in the mythic land of Oz - and it has extra-special meaning for shelter dogs seeking a loving forever home.

Just ask Nigel, who will make his professional stage debut next month when "The Wiz" plays at City Center June 12 - July 5. Nigel is a former street dog who was lucky to be discovered by William Berloni, FetchDog friend, founder of William Berloni Theatrical Animals, and go-to trainer of dogs for hit Broadway Shows including the musicals "Legally Blonde," "Gypsy," and "Annie." Berloni's specialty is finding talented-but-overlooked dogs at animal shelters and other unexpected places, and training them for their turn in the spotlight. He was also the animal trainer for the movie "Charlie Wilson's War."

City Center is located on West 55th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues in Manhattan. Click your heels together and see you there.
