The fashion world is on a first-name basis with the talented young designer Adam Lippes, whose sexy, smart clothing is a favorite of Oprah Winfrey. Adam's own favorites, meanwhile, are his two beloved Labradoodles, Bidu and Lola. "They help me keep going, and they bring me luck," he says. "I'm convinced they're connected to the angels."

Serious fashion hounds know that no stylish outfit is complete without a rescued dog by your side, so Adam does his part to help the dogless shop for new best friends by graciously hosting biannual dog-adoption events at his chic store in Manhattan's meatpacking district, located at 675 Hudson Street. This Saturday's event takes place from 2-4 p.m., with eligible dogs from the Humane Society of New York. Need more incentive to adopt? Dog Treats and post-brunch Bloody Marys and Mimosas will be served to all guests, dog adopters will be gifted with "ADAM Loves Dogs" leashes and T-shirts, and ten percent of the day's sales made will be donated to the Humane Society.

At a combined 140 pounds of canine, you'd think Adam's hands would be full with just two dogs, but the designer is tempted to adopt dog number three. "I'm seriously considering it," he concludes. "I would have 12 dogs if I could!"

In the meantime, he's thinking about introducing a collection for canines. "We've talked about doing a dog line," Adam says. "We'd call it Bidu + Lola." But of course!
