Glenn Close made an appearance today on ABC's "The View" to talk about dogs in general and FetchDog in particular.

Despite being in a bit of a quandary the day before about what to wear, FetchDog's favorite actress looked gorgeous as ever in a silver suit and black heels as she strode onto the set with her beloved little terrier mixes, Bill and Jake - and this was only a matter of hours after she wowed the crowd at the previous night's Tony Award telecast in a sexy strapless gown.

After complimenting her friend Whoopi Goldberg's "incredible" performance as the Tonys' host, Glenn proceeded to discuss highlights of her FetchDog blog, Lively Licks.

When Joy Behar mentioned that she'd read about dogs trained to detect cancer in people, Glenn expressed admiration for dogs' incredible sense of smell, citing her recent interview with NYPD Det. Steve Lanoce,  whose bomb-detection dog Duke is able to differentiate between 20 kinds of explosives.

Glenn was especially proud - and rightly so - of her current "Lively Licks" interview with Bill Campbell, a veteran of the Iraq war whose best friend is Pax, the trained service dog provided him by Puppies Behind Bars, one of the actress' pet charities. Helping Bill to cope with his Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, this wonderful lab "has his back," Glenn explained.

When asked about what makes dogs special, Glenn said, "It's their unconditional love and their loyalty and sensitivity" - and, right on cue, little Jake, who was sitting in his mistress's lap, looked up at her adoringly, to the delight of the studio audience, who were gifted with with Damages DVDs.

Concluding the segment, The View's grand dame and bestselling memoirist Barbara Walters gave Glenn her blessing: "We forgive you for the Dalmatians," Walters said.
