Award-winning designer and FetchDog friend John Bartlett, also the creative force behind Claiborne, the Liz Claiborne collection for men, is a real fashion hound. His stylish threads are worn by famous customers including actors Kiefer Sutherland and Alan Cumming. But the real celebrity in Bartlett's life is Tiny Tim, the mixed-breed "mutt-igree" Bartlett adopted six years ago from North Shore Animal League America.

On Saturday from noon to 5 p.m., Bartlett and North Shore will team up for the bi-annual dog adoption (link to dog adoption center) event at Bartlett's high-style flagship store in New York City's West Village. At the store, located at 143 Seventh Avenue South, Tiny Tim's likeness take the form of a logo that graces everything from the front door to the soft cotton T-shirts, comfy flip-flops, and high-style brown paper shopping bags.

The Tiny Tim logo is a silhouette of a dog with three legs; Tim is a tripod because a fracture necessitated the amputation of his right forelimb on the night he entered North Shore's shelter, Christmas Eve (hence his name).

"I think it's really nice because you don't notice immediately that the image is of a three-legged dog; it just kind of looks like a sweet dog," Bartlett says. "But I like that it's kind of a surprise, and I want clothing and fashion and shopping always to have an element of surprise as well."

At the last event, Bartlett surprised himself by adding a new member to his family: Millie, a mini mutt-igree. For more information on the John Bartlett-North Shore adoption event, call 212-633-6867.
