Calling all salty dogs for life-saving yacht party to benefit homeless animals

By Julia Szabo

Tonight, from 6:30 - 9 p.m., the glamorous, 147-foot mega luxury yacht Atlantis will host a fundraising party to benefit two excellent animal rescue organizations, Friends of Animal Rescue and Brooklyn Animal Foster Network.  Dog lovers are invited with the irresistibly clever phrase, "Together we can preserve lives".

The yacht is docked at the World Financial Center's North Cove Marina.  During the party, free food, dessert, wine and beer will be served.  For those looking to bring home a furry first mate, pet adoptions will take place on the pier (sorry,  no pets allowed on board the yacht, per captain's orders).  At 9 p.m., the Atlantis sets sail for a one-hour cruise of New York Harbor.

Tickets are $100 in advance and $120 at the dock.  Mingle with "Sopranos" stars Vincent "Big Pussy" Pastore and Lou Martini Jr.; political animals Eric Adams, New York State Senator, Scott Stringer, Manhattan Borough President, and Marty Markowitz, Brooklyn Borough President (co-sponsors of the event); plus singer-songwriter Nellie McKay, composer of the "The Dog Song", musician Mark Cooper of Oblivious, and DJ Arissona.

To buy tickets, visit the Brooklyn Animal Foster Network.
