Fans of the phenomenal best-seller Marley and Me have been counting the months, days, and hours until the Christmas 2008 release of the book's long-anticipated film adaptation. Finally, that date has grown closer with the release of the movie's abundantly cute official trailer.

In it, a picture-perfect yellow lab puppy runs along the beach in slo-mo to the tune of Chariots of Fire. This gorgeous, hypnotically peaceful image almost lulls you into thinking that maybe this movie isn't about the same troublemaking pup made famous by author John Grogan.

Then things become clear as the camera pans along the beach waaay behind Marley. Two more beautiful blondes - Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston - soon come into view back there, and they're also running. Their run is in slo-mo too - only it's not nearly as relaxing. That's because they're frantically trying to overtake their runaway pup. "Marleeeeeey," shouts the actress.

Yesterday, the American Kennel Club announced its partnership with Twentieth Century Fox to produce a co-branded line of Marley-themed pet products to be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores starting in November.
