Your Licks: Glenn Close Responds on Cleaning Up After Dog Accidents

Posted on Mar 31, 2008 By Glenn Close comments Comments (1)

Do your dogs have "accidents" in the house? If so, what do you use to clean up the messes? - Lottie

Lottie,

Everyone has accidents sometimes! The important thing to remember when cleaning up an accident is to use a cleaning product that removes all the odor - not just for your nose but for your dog's more sensitive nose - otherwise, he may return to the same spot next time. I use Nature's Miracle to clean up Bill and Jake's accidents, and it works!

Good Luck,

Glenn

About accidents; another helpful hint; if you didn't catch them in the act, don't aknowledge it, remove the dog/s from the room while you clean it up. If it is not a behavioral issue, then all of the above may not be neccessary. This comment is based on my experience, following a behaviorist's suggestion. MGH

About The Author

Hello and welcome to LIVELY LICKS: Profiles of Dogs and their People.
I have been known for many years as an actress and, as you probably know, have played some characters who have not always treated animals – especially dogs – kindly. The truth is that I have been surrounded by dogs my entire life and am a better human being because of it. Our dogs love us and keep us laughing through good times and bad. This blog is a tribute to all the fabulous dogs who trot and wag their way through our lives and to the people who they have so successfully trained.
