Random Licks: Getting Milk

This morning when I poured milk onto a bowl of tasty Honey-Nut Cheerios, it came out sour and clotted. I hate it when that happens. It seems such a waste to throw the cereal away, but eating it would border on the masochistic. Luckily there is a little convenience store just down our road in Maine called White Caps.

I took Bill and Jake to the beach for our morning walk and then dropped by White Caps to get some fresh milk on our way home.


It's next to a golf course. The sign speaks for itself.

Hello Glenn! This my first ever response to a Blog. As a Proud Canadian & Fierce dog-rights protector I also take exception to the too many signs prohibiting dogs from public spaces. My spouse (Arthur) & I have 3 wonderful Whippets (Jefferson, Martha & Nicholas) that we adore & take everywhere with us-they really are our Children! I'm an RN & we regularly take all 3 Kids to the Hospitals & Nursing Homes to see the residents there. The way the people's faces light-up & how their demeanors change from fear/anxiety to relaxation is very obvious. I personally think dogs have a mental connection to humans...it really is unconditional love! We just discovered your site last night & love it! Keep up the good work! There is never too many people fighting for the rights of dogs...who else will fight for them? Ken & Arthur Blankstein-Ure

Ken---Great to hear from you. I'm glad that you discovered our site. I appreciate your comments and congratulate you on venturing into the blogosphere. I'm new at it, but am having a great time. It is wonderful that you and Arthur use your kids to comfort people in hospitals and nursing homes. Dogs do have an extraordinary capacity to heal the soul. You will notice that the sign does not prohibit cats from being on the golf course. Cats are quiet, clean and cuddly. Perhaps FetchDog should include cats, too! Is this a discrimination suit in the making?! Seriously, though, we'll see you at White Caps, getting our milk and cereal...

Hi! I'm Saylor. (chippy's great-niece) My brothers and I love White Caps, too. We once rode our bikes there wearing white shorts, during a rainstorm. Just to get marshmellows. it was closed. So much for that!I love dogs. We don't have any,though. Instead, we have two cats and a kitten. Sammy, Lily, and Coco, also known as Kitten boo. Are Jake and Bill twins? Sincerely, Saylor
