One of the many interesting parts of my job at FetchDog is getting exposure to aspects of life that I never knew about before, such as what goes into preparing for a segment on a daytime talk show. The past several weeks, we've been getting ready for Glenn Close to appear on the Rachael Ray show.

In preparation for the show as well as for the launch of our new dog adoption center, we've been combing through articles and stories about dog adoption and rescue dogs. The outcome has been a new and improved our Dog Adoption Center, a Charitable shop for Rachael Ray and a new email series called Adoption Insights - a special email with a expert's point of view on the ins and outs of dog adoption

Given FetchDog's and Glenn's commitment to dog adoption and Rachael's well known love for rescued pit bulls, the partnership on the topic was a natural fit. Rather than just talk about the issue, Glenn has been living the role for the past month as she took in a foster dog - Sweet Pea. Viewers will get a unique glimpse at the softer side of Glenn Close, in stark contrast to the characters she typically portrays.

Glenn also discusses the topic of dog adoption with Rachael Ray in her latest dog blog, Lively Licks. To further show her support, Rachael launched her charitable shop at FetchDog to benefit the Picasso Veterinary Fund. The Picasso Veterinary Fund pays for the medical treatments for these shelter animals and gives them a second chance at becoming loving pets.

We think Sweet Pea's story will be the next of hopefully a long list of dog adoption stories with happy endings. If you have a story you'd like to share, post a comment below, we'd love to hear from you!
