Miss Sarah's Guide to Etiquette for Dogs & Their People

by Sarah Hodgson with Arthur Greenwald

Howell Book House, 133 pages

Move over, Misses Post and Vanderbilt – there's a new etiquette expert on the scene, and she's here to help us all behave better, whether we're canine or human. Don't be put off by the "Miss Sarah" formality; Hodgson is a leading light in the positive-training field, so she hasn't suddenly gone all dominant on us. She's merely channeling, quite charmingly, her inner white-gloved lady to remind us that a well-behaved dog, just like a person with lovely manners, can really go places. To be able to have one's dog accompany one wherever one chooses to travel: there's really no better incentive for taking time out for training, whether the dog in question is a pup or an adult in need of a refresher course. That's the best lesson of all. Now stand up straight and say thank you (kidding).
