Auto-Fresh Dog Water Fountain

Auto-Fresh Fountain Cleaning Instructions

You will need:  #2 Phillips head screwdriver

STEP ONE              
A) Remove battery –door cover
B) Locate the two screws that hold the Auto-Fresh Fountain housing together.
C) Gently pull up on the bottom half of the Auto-Fresh Fountain to expose the inside of the Auto-Fresh Fountain.

STEP TWO
A) Set aside the two black rubber o-rings that sit at the base of the springs.
B) Remove the water spigot from the front of the Auto-Fresh Fountain by pulling and gently twisting back and forth.
C) Remove the two screws that hold the screen to the front of the Auto-Fresh Fountain.

STEP THREE
A) Slide out the Auto-Fresh Fountain circuit board and the solenoid.
B) Remove the solenoid from the valve body by loosening the slot head screw at the end of the solenoid.
C) Remove the plunger from the inside of the solenoid.  Inspect the solenoid for dirt, debris, or hard water build-up, and clean with a cotton swab if necessary.  If you notice hard water build-up, a bit of vinegar will help remove it.

STEP FOUR
A) Re-assemble the Auto-Fresh Fountain by following these instructions in reverse.  Remember to replace the two rubber o-rings.

For troubleshooting help with your fountain drinking water unit call the product support help line at 1-800-767-8658 M-F 8-4:30 Pacific. When you call, please provide the 4 digit code that is on a white sticker inside the battery compartment.

I installed water fountain and it was easy. I did as the instructions told me to and put the water dish under the outlet and my dogs love it. I had the big water dishes but they were heavy and cracked when left in the sun. Now my 2 dogs get water when they want it and it is always fresh.

I have this on my front water faucet, along with my garden hose. I don't have to worry about remembering to clean and put fresh water in my dogs bowls. They can get a cool, fresh drink any time they want. It was so easy to teach them to drink from it. Perhaps this was because when I use my water hose, I always let them drink from it.

Our dogs enjoy this very much. No worries about warm buckets of water or dump out buckets.

I thought this would be the perfect solution for a dog that likes to tip her water dish over. It worked great and my dog "took to it" right away. However; when I got home from work it was laying on the ground (in water) and chewed up. If it still operates when I replace the batteries (and not chewed beyond use), I may try to fabricate a small wire cage to put over it. Other than that, it would be nice to be able to regulate the amount of water output

The product overall I think is a pretty good product. It is a little wobbly when hooked up with the hose attachment. My dog did not care for this product and would not use it. He is a Puggle. He is not real fond of water. He will walk in water at our place in the country, but does not like the beach or a bath for that matter (running water). I think this had something to do with why he did not care for the product. Could not get him to use it at all. I would recommend seeing if your dog drinks from a running faucet first.

This product is excellent. Within minutes, our 14 year old Golden Retriever, 11 year old Chocolate Lab and Newfoundland puppy learned how to satisfy their thirst. We no longer have three dogs barking for their water dish to be refilled!

Our dog loves his water dog so much that he asks to go outside to get a drink. It was easy to set up and train the dog to use it. I like that it has batteries, so we don't have to worry that a power outage will deprive our dog of fresh water while we are gone.
