Professional Pet Trainer

My dog was in need of a toy that challenged her for more than 2 min. I found this, filled it and off she went. For added training, everytime I would reach down and tug the rope, I would give her a treat. After about 2 hours of play, she had it down perfect.

Best Uses :

My one year old labradoodle enjoys the challenge of the active snacker. She likes to chew on the rope and carries it around the house with her. It is well made and even my active chewer hasn't destroyed this toy. I highly recommend this especially for dogs who like to be busy and are curious.

This tug-a-jug is my dog's fave food toy

Best Uses :
Active Dogs, Indoors, Larger Dogs, Smaller Dogs

I don't know why FetchDog has renamed this the Active Snacker Toy when it's the Tug-a-Jug by Busy Buddy. All that aside, it's a great food puzzle toy and my dog likes it a lot. I feed him his morning and evening meals via this Tug-a-Jug just to make mealtime a little bit more active and last longer than inhaling the food from his bowl. He gets one cup of Canidae dry at each meal and this fits in the small/medium Tug-a-Jug with lots of room for more.

That's Good Stuff
busy buddy
By Uli from Baltimore,MD on 02/20/2009
Pros :
Easy to clean, Keeps dog busy, Very tuff-dog can't break
Cons :
Hard to find treats for
Best Uses :
Everyday

I really like this toy - but i did had trouble finding the right size treats for it. If the treats are too big they wont come out and after a while my dog gave up and if the treats are too soft they will get stuck in it, i think the best treats for it are oatcereal. My dog has fun getting them out and plays with it for hours.

Needs That Special Something
"Rope" breaks
By Cooper's mom from Ionia. NY on 01/21/2009
Pros :
Dog Likes It
Cons :
Breaks Easily
Describe Yourself :
Long-time Pet Owner

While Cooper loves this, the "rope" breaks. We have had it replaced once and it broke again within 2 days. We have started putting a large dog biscuit in with the smaller ones and it partially blocks the opening. Cooper is a VERY active dog and would swing the bottle by the rope - this toy would be good for a much less active dog.

My dogs LOVE this (but hate the Chuckle)

Best Uses :
Active Dogs, Indoors, Larger Dogs, Outdoors, Puppies

My Weim and Standard Poodle LOVE this. It dispenses treats at a rate that will keep them at it, but a cup of little kibble in the bottle will last more than a day. They have not tired of this toy yet (4+ weeks).

My little companion cannot figure out how to get the treats out. He flings it around and bangs it on the floor...sometimes he gets lucky. Though the plastic is definitely strong and has not broken, I'm a little worried about his tossing the toy into a good piece of furniture and making a dent there. Should carry the disclaimer: For Smart Dogs Only.

more fun for me than the dog
By Lucas' Dad from Minneapolis, MN on 11/13/2008
Pros :
Colorful, Tough
Cons :
Dog Doesn't Like It
Describe Yourself :
Long-time Pet Owner

Fun in theory but my dog couldn't care less about this toy. Probably a GREAT toy for a more food-motivated poooch, but my Lucas isn't much of a treat eater so it wasn't a great choice for him. The only time he pays any attention to it is if I tip it upside down and dump the treats out for him.
